Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join the Private Bank Trading Technology team. This hands-on technical leader will drive design and modernize a mission-critical platform, including a large Charles River Cloud Migration, with cloud-native practices and strong collaboration across security, network, and infra teams.

The role requires 8+ years of experience, Java/Spring Boot expertise, API development, and a proven track record in enterprise architectures.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and enterprise application development.
• Experience building and supporting distributed applications and APIs.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented design principles and software engineering best practices.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL development.
• Experience troubleshooting complex production issues in enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, automated testing, and software delivery practices.
• Experience working in Linux and distributed computing environments. Experience in messaging technologies and event-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions using Java and related technologies.
• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and production support.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application, integration, and production issues.
• Develop and support REST APIs, batch processing, and event-driven integrations.
• Collaborate with Information Security, Network Engineering, Infrastructure, Architecture, and vendor teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Contribute to cloud migration and application modernization initiatives.
• Ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for security, resiliency, performance, and operational supportability.
• Perform code reviews and promote engineering best practices across the team.
• Support release activities and provide production support for critical trading applications.
