Job summary
MO is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs and modernize eligibility and enrollment systems. You will design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications, work across a Java/Spring stack, and contribute to CI/CD and backend services.
Candidates should have 5–8 years of experience with Java, REST APIs, and Oracle databases, in a remote US-based role. The role involves collaboration with government clients, adherence to Agile/Scrum methods,
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in CS/SE/IS or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5–8 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong Java development experience and REST API/web services.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications.
- Analyze and resolve complex software defects and production issues.
- Support enhancements and sustainment for applications utilizing Java, Spring Framework, Struts, JSP, EJB, JMS, WebLogic, Hibernate, Oracle, and related technologies.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries and database integrations.
- Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD processes, and application deployments.
- Develop backend services using Java 17+, Spring Boot, microservices, JPA/Hibernate, and REST APIs.
