Job summary

MO is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs, modernizing eligibility and enrollment systems for millions of Veterans and caregivers. The role centers on Java 17+, Spring Boot, and REST APIs, with emphasis on scalable, enterprise-grade solutions.

You will design and maintain backend services, optimize SQL integrations, and contribute to CI/CD and testing efforts. A Bachelor's in CS/SE and 5–8 years’ experience are expected; US citizenship is required for

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5–8 years of software development experience
Strong hands on experience with Java development
Hands-on experience developing REST APIs and web services
Experience with Oracle or other relational databases
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications
Analyze and resolve complex software defects and production issues
Support enhancements and sustainment activities for applications utilizing Java, Spring Framework, Struts, JSP, EJB, JMS, WebLogic, Hibernate, Oracle, and related technologies
Develop and optimize SQL queries and database integrations
Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD processes, and application deployments
Developing and maintaining backend services using Java 17+, Spring Boot, microservices, JPA/Hibernate, and REST APIs.
