Job summary

The University of Houston Sugar Land Campus is seeking a senior IT support specialist to provide advanced technical support to faculty, staff, and students across five operating systems and related hardware and software.

You will analyze complex issues, develop documentation, and may deliver short training sessions and courses. The role is based entirely on-site at UH Sugar Land with opportunities to contribute to classroom AV and enterprise IT initiatives.

Qualifications

Requires a formal 4-year degree and at least 3 years of directly job-related experience.
Experience in higher education or K-12 environment preferred.
Experience with centrally managed Windows environments and endpoint management concepts (Intune, SCCM, AD / Entra ID).

Responsibilities

Provides senior level support to faculty, staff and students on five operating systems and associated hardware and software.
Analyzes and resolves complex OS and software issues that less experienced staff cannot.
Provides informal hands-on training to users on computer use.
Develops and maintains technical documentation and online helpfiles.
Develops and may present short courses introducing hardware and software.
Participates in software development for Support Services as needed.
Conducts projects to install or evaluate software or procedures.
Provides support for printers and printer queues on the UH network.
May train faculty/staff/students in classroom environments.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
