Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking an IT-oriented System Engineer 3 for the Security and Electronic Systems unit. The role covers design, implementation, operations, maintenance, and cybersecurity for large resilient hardware and virtualized infrastructure.

You will work with government stakeholders to ensure systems meet performance and security requirements. Required experience includes DoD environments, VMware ESXi/vSphere, Windows Server, AD, PKI, and scripting (PowerShell, Python).

Qualifications

• Education: Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Computer Science, or related engineering discipline.
• Bachelor's Degree and 5+ Years of progressive experience.
• Master's Degree desirable.
• 2+ years of experience with system solutions for physical security systems and IT solutions.
• Experience eliciting requirements, testing, and implementing hardware/software solutions for data center and virtual infrastructure.
• Experience with VMware ESXi and vSphere; Windows Server deployment/administration; DNS, DFS, DHCP; WSUS, KMS; Active Directory and Group Policy; PKI/Certificates.
• Experience with API management; scripting languages including PowerShell, Python, JSON, Bash.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level-II requirements.
• Strong communication skills with stakeholders.
• Experience with DoD IT security requirements and DISA STIG/SRGs.
• Vendor certifications (VMware, Cisco, Microsoft, NetApp) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with automation and optimization of engineering processes.
• Conduct system engineering assessments: upgrades, lifecycle refreshes, migrations; develop design solutions and work breakdown structures.
• Collaborate with partners and OEMs to implement secure, virtualized infrastructure.
• Document requirements and develop system architecture and test plans.
• Integrate new designs into ongoing operations and maintain configuration management.
• Interact with Government regarding technical considerations and issues.
• Conduct testing against established test plans; participate in interface definition and changes.
• Review program and contract WBS, work packages, and IMS for accuracy.
