Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Senior IT Support Engineer in Washington, DC, to deliver frontline and advanced technical support for end-user devices, servers, networks, and applications. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, project work, and collaboration with facilities and external vendors to ensure seamless service delivery.

You will diagnose, resolve, and communicate status on tickets, while also training users and contributing to a knowledge base.

Qualifications

8+ years of technical user support experience in small to large environments.
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with executive-level service delivery.
Experience in highly secure and confidential environments; ability to prioritize and deliver on time.

Responsibilities

Provide onsite and remote technical support for end users, diagnose and resolve issues, and communicate progress to tickets.
Monitor helpdesk requests, document issues and resolutions, and ensure ticket closure.
Train users on supported hardware, software, and services; provide after-hours/on-call support as needed.
Lead desktop support projects such as OS migrations, patch management, and hardware upgrades.
Coordinate with facilities and vendors to ensure office technology reliability and service continuity.
Create and maintain detailed IT process documentation and knowledge base entries.
