Job summary

NW Natural seeks a Senior IT SOX/Operational Auditor to lead the IT SOX program and support IT operational audits. Responsibilities include developing the annual audit plan, testing IT general controls and key reports, and documenting findings with strong audit evidence.

The role requires a degree in information systems, CS, or accounting, and a CISA certification, with at least five years in IT SOX audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, or a related field.
• Certification as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) is required.
• Public accounting and publicly traded company experience preferred.
• Minimum of five years of experience performing IT SOX audits.
• Experience with baseline and benchmark testing of key reports supporting internal controls over financial reporting.
• Ability to work independently with limited oversight and manage ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of the annual IT SOX Audit Plan.
• Execute and report on IT SOX testing, including testing of IT general controls, automated application controls, and key reports.
• Plan, lead, perform, and document control walkthroughs to evaluate IT general controls.
• Evaluate operating effectiveness of IT SOX controls through testing.
• Perform baseline and benchmark testing of SOX-relevant reports.
• Develop audit procedures for new IT controls and reports.
• Document testing work with high-quality audit evidence for external review.
• Drive cross-functional stakeholder engagement for IT SOX testing.
• Project manage IT SOX audit activities and provide status reporting.
• Support IT operational audits and risk-based scopes.
• Contribute to year-end financial statement audit documentation.
