Job summary

NW Natural is seeking an Senior IT SOX/Operational Auditor to define, lead, and execute the annual IT SOX Audit Plan, coordinating with the controls office, IT compliance, and external auditors. The role will also support IT operational audits and risk-based testing across key reports and controls.

The candidate should have a BS in information systems, computer science, or accounting and a CISA certification, with at least five years of IT SOX auditing experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, or a related field.
• CISA certification is required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of IT SOX auditing experience.
• Experience performing baseline and benchmark testing of key reports supporting internal controls over financial reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage priorities with limited oversight.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of the annual IT SOX Audit Plan.
• Execute and report on IT SOX testing, including testing of IT general controls, automated application controls, and key reports.
• Plan, lead, perform, and document control walkthroughs to evaluate IT general controls.
• Evaluate operating effectiveness of IT SOX general controls through testing.
• Develop detailed test steps and audit procedures for new IT general controls and key reports.
• Document SOX testing work thoroughly to support conclusions and facilitate review.
• Drive cross-functional stakeholder engagement to ensure successful execution of IT SOX testing plan.
• Support IT operational audits by developing risk-based scopes and performing walkthroughs and testing.
