Job summary

SIXT is seeking an experienced IT Field Service Technician II to lead technology installations and deployments across our North American branch network. You will own complex IT setups, troubleshoot network and hardware issues, and support opening new SIXT locations.

You will coordinate with contractors, provide Tier 2 on-site support, and maintain network diagrams and inventories while traveling 40–50% to support new and existing SIXT locations.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on IT field services, systems administration, or similar roles.
• Experience with IT equipment installations, cabling, network diagrams, and documentation.
• Intermediate networking knowledge: VLANs, switches, Wi‑Fi, firewall basics, connectivity troubleshooting.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and Intune; CCNA/CompTIA certs are a plus.
• Ability to coordinate with contractors/vendors and guide junior technicians.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel 40–50% nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT installations at new SIXT locations, from cabling to network testing.
• Configure and troubleshoot switches, Wi‑Fi access points, printers, and routers.
• Perform network connectivity testing, VLAN validation, and firewall checks.
• Coordinate with third-party contractors and vendors during site deployments.
• Provide Tier 2 on-site support and escalation for technicians.
• Maintain accurate site docs: diagrams, IP configs, cable maps, inventories, checklists.
