Job summary

SIXT is seeking an experienced IT Field Service Technician II to lead technology installations and deployments across our North American locations. You will own complex IT setups, troubleshoot network and hardware issues, and support opening new SIXT sites; travel 40–50% nationwide is required.

You will coordinate with contractors and vendors, mentor junior technicians, and maintain comprehensive site documentation to ensure smooth branch launches and reliable IT operations.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands‑on experience in IT field services, systems administration, or similar technical role.
• Experience with structured cabling standards and IT equipment installations; able to read network diagrams and docs.
• Intermediate networking knowledge: VLANs, switches, Wi‑Fi, firewall fundamentals, and complex connectivity troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT installations at new SIXT locations, from cabling to network testing for successful openings.
• Configure and troubleshoot switches, Wi‑Fi access points, printers, and network gear with the Network & Systems team.
• Provide Tier 2 on‑site support and escalation for Field Service Technicians I.
• Coordinate with contractors, electricians, and vendors during site walkthroughs and deployments.
• Maintain accurate site docs: network diagrams, IP configs, cable maps, inventories and checklists.
