Job summary

University of Pennsylvania seeks an IT Desktop/AV Support Specialist to deliver advanced AV and IT support across HireIT environments. You’ll analyze client needs, advise on AV solutions, and serve as a primary contact for planning, testing, and deployment of audio/video tech.

This role covers hands-on tech support, events, and ongoing client communications, with occasional after-hours coverage. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science and 2–3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
• Strong customer service orientation with varied clients.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Consultation and recommendations: analyze requirements and advise on audio/video solutions.
• AV client support: remote and on-site troubleshooting of AV systems and firmware.
• AV event support: assist with events and provide training on AV systems.
• Client support intake: engage with clients via phone, email, and desk-side support.
• Relationship management: inform clients about Penn computing policies and programs.
• Project participation: maintain logs, configurations, and milestones for services.
• Education and training: pursue ongoing learning about new technology and processes.
• Other duties as assigned.
