Job summary

Mercury Insurance Company is seeking aSales Rep to manage and grow a territory of independent agencies in California. You will build relationships, appoint new agencies, and drive growth by leveraging Mercury products and competitive intelligence.

The role requires 5+ years of sales experience, 3+ years in Property & Casualty, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and frequent travel within the territory. Competitive base salary with bonus potential and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required
• At least 5 years of sales experience with at least 3 years in Property & Casualty insurance

Responsibilities

• Plan weekly in-person or virtual sales calls within assigned agencies
• Provide feedback to management on market conditions and program effectiveness
• Respond to inquiries from agents and customers
• Identify and vet potential agency prospects for profitable relationships
• Mentor and train new team members and agency staff
• Drive market share growth by executing the sales strategy
• Maintain a well-developed pipeline of agency prospects
• Travel as needed (air 10%, auto 90%) to visit agencies
• Analyze complex reports to support territory decisions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on pricing and product strategies
