Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Senior Counsel in Georgia to manage a high-exposure insurance defense caseload. The role requires 7+ years of experience, a law license in the relevant state, and proven litigation skills.

You will lead complex matters from inception through trial and appeal, mentor junior attorneys, and collaborate with claim partners to deliver exceptional client service. Travel as needed and contribute to office goals.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent international degree from an accredited law school.
• 7+ years as a practicing attorney.
• Active license to practice law in the required state(s).
• Experience handling hearings, trials, dispositive motions and depositions; willing to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Handle a caseload of high-exposure cases and complex litigation matters.
• Try cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions.
• Perform advanced legal research and craft persuasive written arguments.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and related documents.
• Attend court events, depositions and other proceedings independently.
• Mentor junior attorneys and support staff; provide client guidance and strategy.
