Job summary

Auto Club Enterprises is seeking a Claims Litigation Attorney to represent policyholders and the Exchange in trials and arbitrations, defending homeowners, personal injury, and property damage lawsuits. The role includes handling complex files, mentoring junior attorneys, and providing strategic legal guidance.

The position requires JD and 7–9 years of insurance defense experience, with a strong background in insurance contracts and trial procedures, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• JD degree required and admitted to practice.
• 7-9 years of insurance defense experience required.
• Thorough understanding of insurance contracts.
• Firm grasp of trial procedures and the rules of evidence.
• Valid Driver's License and acceptable DMV record with minimum liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes cases to determine facts and develop defenses in lawsuits.
• Develops and implements discovery plans, takes depositions, drafts motions, and handles records review.
• Prepares for and defends all court proceedings including trials in moderate to high exposure cases.
• Researches and prepares briefs for trial and appellate courts.
• Identifies liability and damages issues and provides strategy recommendations.
• Drafts, researches, and negotiates relevant legal documents and opinions.
• Balances legal and claims considerations under tight deadlines and uncertain circumstances.
