Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking a Senior Counsel to independently handle a caseload of higher exposure cases and complex litigation matters across multiple lines of business. You will leverage trial experience, conduct advanced legal research, and draft substantive pleadings and motions while coordinating with insured clients and claim partners.

Ideal candidates will have 7+ years of insurance defense litigation experience, strong advocacy skills, and the ability to mentor junior

Qualifications

• 7+ years of insurance defense litigation experience
• Advanced oral and written advocacy skills
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of bench and local practices

Responsibilities

• Handle a caseload of higher exposure cases and complex litigation matters across line of business
• Apply litigation techniques to try cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and other legal documents
• Attend court events, depositions and other appointments independently
• Provide case analysis and recommendations to insureds and partners on file handling strategies
• Collaborate with experts to develop case strategies and testimony
• Mentor less experienced attorneys and support staff
• Utilize technology and case management systems effectively
