Job summary

gpac is seeking an Insurance Coverage Attorney (Litigation) with at least 5 years of experience to join its litigation practice, with offices in St. Louis, Kansas City, Denver, and Dallas.

The attorney will handle complex insurance coverage disputes in the commercial sector, from inception through resolution, interpret and analyze policies, draft opinions and letters, manage discovery, take depositions, file pleadings, and maintain clear client communications.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance coverage litigation preferred.
• Experience with commercial insurance coverage matters, including: Commercial General Liability (CGL), Pollution Liability, Marine, Directors & Officers (D&O), Professional Liability, Errors & Omissions (E&O).
• Strong experience reviewing and interpreting insurance policies.
• Experience with all phases of complex commercial litigation.
• Excellent written, analytical, and client communication skills.
• Strong academic background and attention to detail.
• Licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Handle insurance coverage litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Analyze and interpret commercial insurance policies across various lines of coverage.
• Draft coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, and other coverage-related evaluations.
• Conduct factual investigations and manage discovery in complex litigation matters.
• Take and defend depositions and participate in mediation and settlement discussions.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with clients regarding coverage positions and strategy.
