Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an engineer with a BS/MS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering for nuclear power plant instrumentation and controls upgrades. You will join a multi-disciplinary team, develop specifications, and contribute to digital modernization efforts across plant sites.

Essential skills include strong control-systems knowledge, excellent communication, and collaboration. Travel to client sites may be required, with mentoring and ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with strong control systems coursework.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in design engineering for power plant control systems.
• Coursework in mechatronics is desirable but not required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work on a multi-discipline engineering team on instrumentation and controls projects for nuclear power plants.
• Prepare specifications for procurement of instrumentation and controls equipment and perform related engineering calculations.
• Mentor others through training sessions and on-the-job learning opportunities.
• Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and field verification of designs.
