Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced I&C engineer for the Nuclear Power Group in Georgia. The role focuses on digital upgrades, PLC/DCS/HSI systems, and complex control projects for both existing plants and new builds. You will lead technical decisions within a project team and interface with vendors and clients.

The position follows a hybrid schedule requiring in-office work three days per week, with competitive compensation and extensive benefits in a landmark nuclear engineering practice.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years of experience in the design engineering of instrumentation and controls systems in a project team environment for heavy industrial plants.
• Experience serving as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role is desirable.
• Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others.

Responsibilities

• Develop and market high level, complex programs for nuclear power projects associated with design, operational excellence, safety, maintenance, and project management.
• Direct technical decision making in a project team environment with other engineers and designers involved in the design, modification, and analysis of new and existing power plant controls systems, specifically digital upgrades.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve instrumentation & controls engineering issues.
• Coordinate systems design activities to ensure design compliance with specifications, codes, and client requirements.
• Perform Digital Systems Design Development—PLC, DCS, HSI, and networked computer systems for nuclear plant systems, including requirements specs and critical reviews.
• Prepare documentation for design input for drawing production including cable block diagrams and schematics.
