Job summary

Sargent & Lundy’s Nuclear Power Group is seeking an I&C Engineer to lead and support controls projects at client sites across the U.S. The role emphasizes advanced digital control systems and strong project execution with cross-disciplinary coordination.

You will investigate and resolve controls engineering issues, develop budgets and proposals, and interface with clients to ensure outcomes meet stringent nuclear standards and schedules. NC location preferred.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years in I&C design engineering; at least 5 years at a nuclear facility.
• PE license preferred.
• Clear communication in speech and writing.
• Knowledge of equipment and pre-engineered systems for design.
• Experience liaising with clients in lead or supporting roles.
• Experience reviewing design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop Digital Systems Design – PLC, DCS, HSI, networked computer systems.
• Prepare control system requirements and procurement specifications for nuclear plant control systems.
• Interface with the client to ensure proper project execution and client satisfaction.
• Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, and studies for client needs.
• Manage resources/loading and develop estimates for task completion and budget.
• Support the development of proposals.
• Prepare and review diagrams and drawings for new/upgraded controls solutions.
• Evaluate vendor bids from a technical perspective.
• Interface with vendors to perform document reviews and witness FAT, for client.
