Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to lead design efforts for nuclear power projects, upgrading and modernizing control systems with PLC, DCS, and HSI solutions. You will coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and structural teams to drive project completion and client satisfaction.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in I&C design, nuclear facility experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years in I&C design engineering, 5+ years at a nuclear facility.
• PE license preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of equipment and pre-engineered systems for design.
• Experience liaising with clients in lead or supporting roles.
• Experience reviewing design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop digital systems design: PLC, DCS, HSI, and networked computers.
• Prepare control system requirements and procurement specifications.
• Interface with the client to ensure project execution and satisfaction.
• Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, and studies.
• Manage resources and develop task estimates and budgets.
• Support proposal development.
• Prepare and review diagrams/drawings for controls solutions.
• Evaluate vendor bids from a technical perspective.
• Interface with vendors for document reviews and FAT witness.
• Support project implementation at the client site.
