Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Sr Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to lead design and optimization of control systems for industrial and commercial facilities. You will develop P&IDs, size valves, specify instrumentation, and document operations while ensuring codes and standards are met.

You will collaborate across disciplines, participate in startup activities, and mentor junior staff. The role supports a hybrid work model with opportunities to work near U.S. offices or on projects nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related engineering.
• At least 6 years of experience working with instrumentation and control.
• Demonstrated experience in mission-critical control systems (BMS/SCADA/DCS).

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize control systems for processes and facilities.
• Develop P&IDs, size valves, specify instrumentation, and document design data.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers and designers for complete solutions.
• Provide on-site support during start‑up and during commissioning.
• Lead project teams and mentor junior professionals on multi-disciplinary efforts.
