Job summary

Amgen Inc. is building a state-of-the-art FleX Batch facility in North Carolina and seeks a Senior Instrumentation Technician to support startup and ongoing operations.

You will lead calibration, maintenance, and validation of instrumentation across manufacturing, utilities, and labs, contributing to safe, compliant, and efficient production. Ideal candidates bring practical instrumentation maintenance experience, GMP knowledge, and ability to work with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma / GED with 2 years instrumentation experience OR Associate’s degree with 6 months instrumentation experience.
• Experience in instrumentation maintenance with sanitary processing equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot circuitry up to 480V.
• Knowledge of cGMP regulatory environment.
• Experience executing and documenting maintenance work orders in Maximo.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate, repair, install, troubleshoot, and document instruments on process control and building systems.
• Complete safety and maintenance documentation per GMPs and SOPs.
• Work with minimal direction to maximize maintenance output.
• Communicate issues and task status to operators and stakeholders.
• Review and technically approve maintenance reports, forms, plans, and records.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and participate in implementation.
• On-call support may be required outside normal hours.
