Job summary

Takeda in Thousand Oaks, CA is seeking a senior Instrument Calibration Technician V to support metrology across manufacturing. You will perform calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance, installation, and modification of electrical and pneumatic instrumentation and related equipment.

You will coordinate metrology activities, assist projects, and train other technicians. The role requires strong independent judgment, 5+ years in process instrumentation, and familiarity with GMP/CGMP and ISO/IEC

Qualifications

Senior, non-supervisory role requiring strong independent judgment.
5+ years of experience in process instrumentation and calibration.
Experience with GMP/CGMP and ISO/IEC 17025 where applicable.

Responsibilities

Perform advanced calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance, installation, and modification of instrumentation and related equipment.
Calibrate a broad range of instrumentation including temperature, pressure, conductivity, UV, balances, scales, vacuum, pH, CL2, ORP, timers, RPM, flow, and gas detection systems.
Demonstrate advanced troubleshooting skills involving electrical and pneumatic instrumentation, control systems, and related equipment.
Operate, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot calibration test equipment and apply metrology techniques.
Review and approve calibration reports, verify out-of-tolerance conditions, and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
Plan and schedule routine and non-routine calibration activities balancing metrology requirements with production schedules.
Support system specification reviews, P&ID verification, and implementation of department projects and process improvements.
Support and troubleshoot PLCs, microprocessors, automated control systems, and control system instrumentation.
Maintain accurate calibration records and documentation per SOPs, GMP/GDP, and ISO/IEC 17025 where applicable.
Train and provide technical guidance to other technicians and coordinate metrology activities when supervisor is unavailable.
