Job summary

Takeda is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Metrology Technician to support GMP manufacturing operations at the Lexington site. You will perform calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostics to ensure equipment accuracy and reliability.

This on-site role requires collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring technicians, while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The position operates on a rotating 6:00AM–6:30PM schedule in Massachusetts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 4–8 years of relevant experience required; a technical certification or associate degree preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of instrumentation and metrology principles, including calibration techniques and system reliability in GMP environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to resolve complex instrumentation and control issues with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with PLCs, CMMS, and related instrumentation; ability to interpret technical documentation and work within cGMP and data integrity frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Execute calibration, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and diagnostics for instrumentation and control systems to ensure safe, compliant performance.
• Maintain site metrology programs per procedures, ensuring measurement accuracy and traceability.
• Respond to alarms and non-routine events, assess impact, coordinate resources, and document actions to minimize disruptions.
• Monitor and support instrumentation, control systems, equipment, and utilities to ensure reliability and plant readiness.
• Adhere to site safety, cGMP standards, and regulatory expectations, including hazard assessments and PPE usage.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including calibration records, work orders, logbooks, and GMP records.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Validation, and contractors to troubleshoot and improve reliability; support commissioning/qualification.
• Oversee contractor activities and ensure compliance with procedures and safety requirements.
• Serve as a senior technical resource, mentoring technicians and transferring knowledge across teams.
