Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Senior Inpatient Facility Certified Medical Coder for a remote role in the U.S. You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient hospital services, determine DRG impact, and ensure documentation quality.

A strong credentialing background and experience in trauma centers are required. The position includes 4 weeks of training, with telecommuting from home, and a $5,000 sign-on bonus for external applicants.

Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC credentialing required.
• 3+ years acute inpatient medical coding experience.
• Experience in Level 2+ trauma center and teaching hospital.
• ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient services and impact on DRG.
• Abstract data during chart reviews as needed.
• Provide documentation feedback to providers.
• Maintain up-to-date coding knowledge and participate in team meetings.
• Review and track charts coded, held, or missing.
