The ideal candidate holds an AHIMA or AAPC credential, an associate degree in health information management, and at least seven years of inpatient coding experience in an acute care setting.

Qualifications

• Inpatient coding experience in an acute care setting.
• Certification from AAPC or AHIMA is required.
• 7 years of inpatient coding experience preferred.
• Proficiency with ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign diagnoses and procedures.
• Code high-dollar and long-stay cases for all patient types.
• Adhere to Official Coding Guidelines and compliance regulations.
• Collaborate with CDI/Quality teams to align DRGs.
• Support payer audits and updates to coding policies.
