Job summary

Mosaic Life Care seeks an Inpatient Coder II to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for acute inpatient and related services. The role involves collaborating with clinicians to improve documentation, training coders, and ensuring accuracy of complex DRG assignments.

Required: coding education with medical terminology knowledge, and HIM qualifications. Remote candidates in allowed states may apply; strong EMR and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Coding education with knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and anatomy.
• Query guidelines experience required/essential.
• Associate or Bachelor degree in HIM/Medical Records is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Codes complex diseases and procedures using ICD-10-CM/PCS for inpatient services.
• Queries providers to improve documentation and demonstrate severity of illness.
• Assigns MS-DRG and APR-DRG per guidelines for inpatient services including LTACH.
• Mentors and trains coders; supports education opportunities.
• Achieves coding quality and productivity goals.
