Job summary

Orb is seeking a senior infrastructure engineer to maintain a high reliability bar across event ingestion, API services, alerting, and invoicing. You will own the infrastructure powering the product and collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep systems running smoothly.

You’ll lead resiliency efforts, improve observability, and build scalable, real-time infrastructure while planning for large customer growth and mentoring peers in best practices.

Qualifications

• You have 5+ years of software engineering, with 4+ years in the infrastructure domain.
• Strong debugging and performance tuning skills.
• Experience building scalable, customer-facing infrastructure.
• Ability to mentor peers on observability and rollout strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead infrastructure resiliency efforts – recovery mechanisms, tenant isolation, load spike handling, etc.
• Improve observability and operability of our systems.
• Build performance-critical, user-facing infrastructure (eg. real-time event processing).
• Plan scaling initiatives to handle large customer growth.
• Partner with other engineering teams to ensure we build reliable product features.
• Learn from a talented peer group, and share your expertise.
