Job summary

Orb is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer in San Francisco to maintain a high reliability bar across our platform. You will own the infrastructure powering the product—from event ingestion to invoicing—ensuring uptime and protecting revenue.

You will lead resiliency efforts, improve observability, and build scalable, real-time infrastructure while planning for growth. Collaborate across teams and mentor peers in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• 4+ years in the infrastructure domain
• Mentoring fellow engineers on best practices (observability, rollout strategies, risk mitigation)
• You think deeply about edge cases, failure modes, bottlenecks

Responsibilities

• Lead infrastructure resiliency efforts - recovery mechanisms, tenant isolation, load spike handling
• Improve observability and operability of our systems
• Build performance-critical, user-facing infrastructure (eg. real-time event processing)
• Plan scaling initiatives to handle large customer growth
• Partner with other engineering teams to ensure reliable product features
• Learn from a talented peer group, and share your expertise
