Job summary

FedEx is seeking a Maintenance Technician III in Ohio to perform preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of material handling systems. You will interpret schematics, electrical or mechanical manuals, and engineering specs to diagnose faults and escalate when needed.

Responsibilities include using EAM software, reading PLCs, and assisting lower level technicians. A strong emphasis on safety, quality workmanship, and cross-functional collaboration is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certificates in Industrial Maintenance/Mechatronics, electrical or mechanical trade or related area and an associate degree in a related area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on material handling systems.
• Follow safety standards and attend trainings.
• Interpret electrical or mechanical schematics and manuals to diagnose and repair faults.
• Respond to sort calls to diagnose problems and perform repairs.
• Utilize Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software to enter and retrieve data.
• Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical and PLC/controls failures.
• Read PLCs and burn EEPROMs; assist lower level technicians.
• Develop scopes of work and small project plans locally.
