Job summary

Amteck, a nationally recognized Top 50 Electrical Design-Build Contractor, seeks an Electrical Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair of electrical systems in industrial environments. This role emphasizes safety, NFPA 70B/NETA compliance, and uptime.

Responsibilities include infrared thermography, visual inspections, gear lubrication, and testing power distribution, motors, and controls.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in an industrial electrical maintenance setting
• Strong understanding of electrical theory, power distribution, and industrial installations
• Develop and execute preventive maintenance strategies
• Proficient with electrical tools, diagnostic instruments, and testing equipment
• Interpret arc-flash studies and safety protocols
• Extensive knowledge of NEC rules and OSHA/NFPA 70E safety standards
• Strong scheduling and reporting skills for maintenance activities
• Ability to read construction documents and obtain OEM-specific equipment training/certifications
• Willingness to travel up to 100%
• Zero-tolerance for unsafe behaviors and adherence to company safety programs

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and testing following NFPA 70B, OEM specs, and NETA standards
• Conduct infrared thermography to identify abnormal heat and faults
• Inspect electrical components, wiring, and connections for wear or damage
• Clean, lubricate, and service electrical equipment to ensure performance
• Test power distribution, control equipment, and motors for correct operation
• Assess equipment condition and maintenance risks to minimize downtime
• Apply lockout/tagout and arc-flash safety procedures
• Support EHS initiatives and safe work practices
• Maintain precise documentation of inspections, test results, actions, and recommendations
• Communicate with customers, supervisors, and team members about work performed
• Enforce company safety programs and site-specific requirements
• Participate in field training (on-the-job, classroom, or virtual)
