Job summary

Amteck, a national electrical design-build contractor, is hiring an Electrical Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems in industrial environments. The role emphasizes safety, NFPA 70B/NETA compliance, and uptime of facility electrical infrastructure.

Responsibilities include infrared thermography, visual inspections, equipment servicing, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Ideally 5+ years in industrial electrical maintenance.
• Strong understanding of electrical theory, power distribution, and industrial installations.
• Familiarity with NFPA 70B, NEC, NETA standards and arc-flash safety procedures.
• Proficient with electrical diagnostic tools and reporting.
• Willingness to travel as needed (up to 100%).

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical preventive maintenance and testing per NFPA 70B, OEM specs, and NETA standards.
• Conduct infrared thermography to identify abnormal heat and faults.
• Visually inspect components, wiring, and connections for wear or damage.
• Clean, lubricate, and service electrical equipment for performance and longevity.
• Test power distribution systems, controls, and motors for proper function.
• Assess equipment condition and maintenance risks; recommend improvements.
• Apply safety practices including LOTO, arc-flash awareness, and arc-flash studies.
• Support EHS initiatives and integrate safe practices in tasks.
• Document inspections, test results, corrective actions, and recommendations.
• Identify issues early to minimize downtime and costs.
• Communicate findings with customers, supervisors, and team members.
• Instruct and enforce company and site safety requirements; incidents are preventable.
• NFPA 70E and NFPA 70B training/certification preferred, OEM training preferred, NETA certification preferred.
• Willingness to participate in field training (OJT, classroom, or virtual).
