Herc Rentals is seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Manager in Bonita Springs, FL to lead the timely filing of North American indirect tax returns. You will oversee third-party filings, collaborate with accounting, and drive tax planning opportunities to minimize risk and ensure SOX-compliant processes.

You will supervise analysts, stay current on US indirect tax laws, and work with ERP design teams to optimize tax functionality. This is a full-time, on-site role with competitive compensation.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance required.
• Proficient with Vertex (O Series) and OneSource for indirect tax filings.
• Strong analytical, planning and communication skills under tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of US indirect tax laws and SALT experience.

Aufgaben

• Serve as main consultant for indirect tax inquiries and manage preparation/review of transaction tax filings by third-party vendors.
• Act as liaison between third-party vendors and business units to ensure compliance with state/local regulations; review and maintain provisions.
• Review monthly tax accruals for accuracy and reconcile tax accounts with accounting teams.
• Conduct annual nexus analysis and update registrations as needed, plus projections for indirect tax accruals and payments.
• Support ERP system design/implementation for indirect tax and identify tax planning opportunities.
• Stay updated on sales/use tax issues and maintain SOX-compliant documentation; collect and audit exemption certificates.
• Assist in tax audits and respond to auditor inquiries; supervise and train analysts on state/local tax projects.
