Herc Rentals is seeking an experienced Indirect Tax professional to lead timely and accurate NA indirect tax return filings. The role involves coordinating with third-party vendors, ensuring state and local tax compliance, and driving process improvements to minimize tax exposure.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in indirect tax, strong Excel skills, and experience with OneSource, with the ability to mentor junior analysts and collaborate across Finance and Operations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of indirect tax experience in large corporate/public environments.
• Knowledge of US indirect tax laws/regulations.
• State income tax experience with OneSource.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or similar fields.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the main consultant for indirect tax inquiries, managing preparation and data review of transaction tax filings by third-party vendors.
• Act as the primary liaison between third-party vendors and business units to ensure compliance with state and local regulations.
• Review monthly tax accruals for accuracy and reconcile tax accounts with accounting teams.
• Conduct annual nexus analysis, update registrations as needed, and prepare projections for indirect tax accruals and payments.
• Support ERP system design and implementation for indirect tax, ensuring compliance and efficiency; identify tax planning opportunities.
• Research and document sales/use tax issues; maintain SOX-compliant documentation for audits.
• Participate in tax audits, respond to auditors and resolve issues.
• Supervise and mentor analysts on state and local tax projects.
