Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Sr. Analyst to own timely, accurate North American indirect tax filings. You will coordinate with third‑party vendors, review accruals, and support ERP tax design. The role requires expert knowledge of US indirect tax laws, SALT, and OneSource integration.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of indirect tax experience in a large corporate or public environment.
• Strong analytical, organizational, planning and communication skills under deadlines.
• Vertex expertise (O series preferred) and knowledge of US indirect tax laws.
• SALT experience and state income tax exposure with OneSource.
• Proficient Excel skills and advanced MS Office usage.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review transaction tax filings (sales/use, property tax, gross receipts) with third‑party vendors.
• Liaise between vendors and business units to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Review monthly tax accruals with accounting and reconcile tax accounts.
• Conduct nexus analysis, update registrations, and project indirect tax accruals/payments.
• Support ERP design and implementation for indirect tax processes.
• Stay updated on sales/use tax issues and maintain SOX-compliant documentation.
• Assist in tax audits and respond to inquiries from authorities.
• Supervise and mentor tax analysts on state and local tax projects.
