Job summary

ASM Research, a federal contractor, is seeking a Senior Incident Response Coordinator to lead tactical coordination of complex IT incidents and minimize mission impact. You will run war rooms, enforce runbooks and cadence, drive cross‑team collaboration, and provide executive‑ready communications during and after major events.

This role requires ITIL expertise, 8+ years in incident management, strong leadership, and an active SECRET clearance or ability to obtain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS/Business or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in incident management or related IT roles with leadership of major incidents.
• Deep understanding of ITIL principles and incident governance.
• Proficiency with incident management tools and ITSM platforms.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; ability to brief senior leadership.
• Ability to lead multiple concurrent incidents and drive consensus across stakeholders.
• Active SECRET clearance or ability to obtain; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate war-room activities and track restoration actions.
• Enforce runbooks, cadence, and communications during incidents.
• Engage dependencies across infra, app, identity, cloud, and network to restore services.
• Translate technical impact into business language for leadership updates.
• Coordinate with Problem, Change, Release, Service Continuity, and SOC/Cyber IR.
• Run tabletop exercises and ensure on-call readiness across teams.
• Mentor coordinators and junior staff on escalation protocols and analysis techniques.
• Document timelines, decisions, and impact for audit purposes.
