Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Senior II Site Reliability Engineer - Network to design, build, and operate scalable network infrastructure for Akamai Connected Cloud. You will collaborate with software, operations, and network teams to raise reliability and performance of our global platform.

The role requires 8+ years in SRE/Network, a CS degree, and hands-on experience with automation, Linux networking, and CI/CD tooling. You will mentor teammates and define standards across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in SRE/Network reliability or similar
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Salt Stack, Chef, Puppet)

Responsibilities

• Partner across teams to ensure reliability, scalability and usability of network infrastructure, products, and services.
• Define requirements as part of the product lifecycle to influence designs and standards.
• Develop automation pipelines to support development, testing, and deployment workflows.
• Define SLOs for network infrastructure within Akamai Connected Cloud for high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with Dev and QA teams to improve code quality and stability.
• Mentor teammates and drive code quality standards and architectural decisions.
