Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior II Site Reliability Engineer - Network to ensure reliability and performance across Akamai Connected Cloud networks. You will partner with software, operations and network teams to set standards and deliver scalable infrastructure.

You will implement automation, define SLOs, review architecture, and mentor peers to raise code quality. A strong background in large distributed systems and network protocols is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience in SRE/Network Reliability.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong automation and scripting skills.
• Understanding of TCP/IP and OSI models.
• Experience with Linux networking and open source networking software (FRR, Bird, goBGP).

Responsibilities

• Partner across teams to ensure reliability, scalability and usability of network infrastructure, products, and services.
• Defining requirements as part of product lifecycle to influence new designs and standards.
• Developing automation pipelines to support development, testing, and deployment workflows.
• Defining SLOs for network infrastructure within the Akamai Connected Cloud to ensure high availability and performance.
• Working with Dev and QA teams to create robust solutions, code improvements and stability.
• Mentor team members, drive code quality standards and provide architectural thought leadership.
