Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior II Site Reliability Engineer - Network to join our global team. You will partner with software, operations and network groups to drive reliability and scalability across Akamai Connected Cloud infrastructure.

You will define requirements, build automation, and set SLOs for network services while mentoring others and influencing architectural decisions. Experience with open source networking and CI/CD tools is essential.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in site reliability, network reliability, or DevOps with large-scale distributed systems.
Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Salt Stack, Chef, Puppet).
Knowledge of Linux networking and open source projects (FRR, Bird, goBGP).
Understanding of TCP/IP, OSI, Cisco/Juniper equipment; scripting in Python, Bash or Go.
Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Github Actions, ArgoCD.

Responsibilities

Collaborate across software, operations, and network teams to ensure reliability and performance.
Define requirements and influence designs for network infrastructure.
Develop automation pipelines for development, testing and deployment.
Set SLOs for Akamai Connected Cloud networks to ensure high availability.
Work with Dev and QA teams to improve code quality and stability.
Mentor teammates and drive architectural standards.
