Job summary
Akamai Technologies is seeking a Senior Lead Site Reliability Engineer to advance automation and reliability across Akamai's compute infrastructure. You will lead incident responses, define SLOs/KPIs, and partner with Engineering, Product, and Support teams to ensure high availability and scalable services.
The role requires 5+ years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, and a track record of leading large-scale distributed systems.
Qualifications
- 5 years of relevant experience in Site Reliability or related roles.
- Experience architecting hardware, software, and infrastructure at scale.
- Strong development or sysadmin background with large distributed systems.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to align with strategic business initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Define requirements to influence new designs and standards.
- Provide leadership and motivation for project teams.
- Create and maintain SLOs and KPIs with cross-functional teams.
- Investigate and troubleshoot complex problems including incident responses.
- Participate in on-call rotations and guide restorations.
