Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior II Site Reliability Engineer - Network to join our global team. You will partner with software development, operations, and network teams to improve reliability, scalability, and performance of Akamai Connected Cloud infrastructure.

You will define requirements, build automation pipelines, set SLOs, and mentor engineers to raise code quality and architectural standards across our distributed systems.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of experience in SRE/Network/DevOps roles.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong Linux networking and open source networking software knowledge.
• Proficient in Python, Bash, or Go scripting.
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, SaltStack, Chef, Puppet).
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Github Actions, ArgoCD).

Responsibilities

• Partner across teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and usability of network infrastructure, products, and services.
• Define requirements to influence designs and standards.
• Develop automation pipelines for development, testing, and deployment.
• Define SLOs for network infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with Dev and QA to improve stability and code quality.
• Mentor team members and provide architectural guidance.
