Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced Storage Engineer to design, implement, and optimize IBM z/OS storage environments such as DS8000 and TS7700. You will manage replication, disaster recovery, and data protection strategies to ensure high availability for enterprise workloads.

The role emphasizes DFSMS technologies, capacity planning, and automation. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and vendors is required to drive modernization and resiliency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent IT work experience.
• 7+ years in an IT environment focusing on technology infrastructure.
• Experience designing, deploying, and supporting large storage environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize IBM z/OS storage environments including DS8000 and TS7700.
• Manage storage replication, BC/DR solutions for high availability.
• Administer DFSMS technologies and data lifecycle management.
• Perform capacity planning, forecasting, and performance tuning for enterprise workloads.
• Support GDPS recovery environments with testing and failover exercises.
• Develop automation, scripting, monitoring, and reporting for storage ops.
• Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and vendor teams to resolve issues.
