Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a storage-focused professional to design and manage IBM z/OS storage environments, including DS8000 DASD and TS7700. You will handle replication, DR planning, and data protection across large mainframe workloads.

Responsibilities include automation, capacity planning, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve reliability and performance in a complex enterprise setting. This role requires hands-on expertise and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years in an IT environment.
• 7+ years in design, development and support of technology infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, administer, and optimize IBM z/OS storage environments.
• Manage storage replication, business continuity, and disaster recovery for mainframe environments.
• Administer DFSMS technologies (SMS, DFHSM, ICF Catalogs, storage groups, lifecycle management).
• Perform capacity planning, utilization forecasting, and performance optimization for enterprise workloads.
• Support GDPS-enabled recovery environments with testing and failover exercises.
• Implement backup, recovery, cyber resiliency, and data protection solutions.
• Develop automation, scripting, monitoring, and reporting to improve efficiency and risk management.
• Collaborate with engineering, application, infrastructure, operations, and vendors to troubleshoot storage issues.
