Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Lead Mainframe Storage Engineer to join the Z Infrastructure team. The role focuses on providing a highly available Z Compute and Storage platform, resilient to infra failures and cyber events.

You will manage IBM DS8000 storage, TS7700 VTS, DFSMS configurations, and disaster recovery strategies. You will also implement automation using REXX, monitor capacity, and troubleshoot storage outages with RCA.

Qualifications

• Must have deep knowledge of IBM z/OS environment.
• Experience with DFSMS, DFHSM/DFDSS, and PPRC protocols.
• Proficient in automation scripting (REXX); able to write/storage related scripts.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain IBM DS8000 series DASD and TS7700 VTS hardware.
• Design SMS configurations and manage data, storage and management class rules.
• Oversee backups, recovery, replication and disaster recovery planning.
