Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced Storage Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and optimize IBM z/OS storage environments in a large enterprise. You will manage replication, disaster recovery, and data protection with DFSMS technologies and GDPS-enabled recovery planning.

The role requires strong automation skills, capacity planning, and collaboration across engineering, operations, and vendors to ensure high availability and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of experience within a total information technology (IT) environment.
• 7+ years of experience with the design, development and support of technology infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, administer, and optimize IBM z/OS storage environments and IBM DS8000/TS7700 platforms.
• Manage storage replication, business continuity, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Administer DFSMS technologies (SMS, DFHSM, ICF Catalogs) and data lifecycle management.
• Perform capacity planning, utilization forecasting, growth analysis, and storage performance optimization.
• Support GDPS-enabled recovery environments through testing and resiliency planning.
• Implement backup, recovery, cyber resiliency, Safeguarded Copy and data protection solutions.
• Develop automation, scripting, monitoring, and reporting to improve efficiency and risk management.
• Collaborate with engineering, application, infrastructure, operations, and vendor teams to troubleshoot storage issues.
