Maximus is seeking a Senior IBM COBOL Developer to support the IRS client. This is a remote, full-time role requiring an active Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI).

You will lead COBOL development, maintain IBM COBOL programs, update documentation, and collaborate with stakeholders across levels. Responsibilities include coding, testing, documentation, and guiding other developers, with a focus on efficient, compliant tax processing systems.

Formación

• - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 5+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• - At least five (5) years of relevant experience.
• - Must possess an active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI).
• - At least four (4) years of experience with IBM COBOL programming language.
• - Experience with DB2 and IBM DB2 utilities.
• - Experience with CICS.
• - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• - Demonstrated success in client support.
• - Ability to interface with all levels of management.
• - Ability to perform complex tasks with minimal supervision and guidance.
• - Excellent time management, scheduling and organizational skills.
• - Ability to work well independently or in a team setting.
• - Preferred qualifications: IRS processing systems; SQL, JCL, Batch processing.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the development of software solutions that meet business requirements, design modules, unit test, troubleshoot, and draft proposals to resolve issues.
• Evaluate new coding techniques, tools, modules, and implement as appropriate.
• Consult on requirements elicitation and definition.
• Design software solutions per systems requirements.
• Code software solutions per designs.
• Code reviews, unit test, and integrate coded modules.
• Assist other developers with guidance and training.
• Support testing and remediate defects.
• Support users through troubleshooting and analysis of production logs and data.
• Investigate new solutions, tools, products, and techniques to improve coding standards.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees as needed.
• Create, update, unit test, and maintain IBM COBOL programs.
• Update documentation such as FSPs/PRPs and Visio diagrams.
• Track requirements and create/execute unit test cases.
• Write/review documentation including UWR, IRM, ICD, COH.
