Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior I&C Engineer to lead large, complex projects in the water/industrial sector. You will evaluate, specify, and engineer I&C systems while mentoring junior staff and serving as Engineer of Record.

This role requires strong collaboration with clients, vendors, and internal teams. The ideal candidate holds a BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, with MS preferred, and at least 15 years in instrumentation and controls.

Qualifications

• Requires a B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 15 years in instrumentation and controls.
• PE license in Controls Systems or Electrical Engineering in AZ or ability to obtain reciprocity or within 18 months of hire.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and mentoring skills; ability to work with dispersed teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead large, high-complexity projects within I&C.
• Evaluate, select, specify, and engineer I&C systems and products.
• Develop design through sketches, models, diagrams, and documents.
• Prepare and revise site plans, floor plans, diagrams, schematics, and details.
• Coordinate project teams, consultants, owner, contractor, and vendors.
• Manage project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
• Prepare project specifications and construction documents; participate in constructability reviews.
• Ensure quality assurance and control on projects; contribute to new standards for electrical group.
• Develop scope and design approaches for projects; assist with proposals for smaller projects.
• Oversee multiple projects and serve as Engineer of Record; travel as required.
