Job summary

Stantec in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer Discipline Lead to manage a team and lead the design and delivery of complex industrial and high-tech projects. This role fits a seasoned engineer with deep I&C expertise and strong project leadership.

Responsibilities include designing and specifying instrumentation and control systems, developing P&IDs, loop diagrams, PLC/DCS designs, and I/O data sheets while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, team development, and thought leadership as Discipline Lead.
• Lead the design and specification of instrumentation and control systems for industrial and high-tech facilities.
• Develop P&IDs, PFDs, loop diagrams, wiring schematics, PLC/DCS designs, instrument data sheets.
• Create logic diagrams, sequences of operation, and I/O databases.
• Oversee electrical and I&C system design from concept through construction.
• Coordinate raceway, conduit routing, and system layouts with multidisciplinary teams.
• Interface with clients to manage scope, schedule, and technical delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers; participate in site visits and commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Travel occasionally to support projects and meet site requirements.
