Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer for California locations (San Francisco, Irvine, or Sacramento). You will join a multidiscipline team delivering control systems engineering, process control strategy, and automation design for water and wastewater facilities.

The role requires strong I&C expertise, PLC/SCADA/HMI know-how, and the ability to lead or contribute within project teams. Travel may be required; compensation is aligned with market ranges in California.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering required (MS preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of instrumentation and controls experience.
• PE license in California or ability to obtain reciprocity within 18 months.
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform control systems engineering and process control strategy planning for water/wastewater plants and pumping stations.
• Develop P&IDs, control panel details, and network architecture diagrams.
• Coordinate I&C deliverables with process, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
