Job summary

Sargent & Lundy’s Nuclear Power Group seeks an experienced Instrumentation & Controls engineer for major digital upgrade projects at nuclear facilities. You will lead design efforts, perform calculations, review drawings, and coordinate with vendors to deliver compliant, safe, and cost-effective solutions.

The role requires a strong background in I&C systems for heavy industry, along with excellent client communication and project oversight capabilities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in instrumentation & controls engineering for heavy industrial plants.
• Experience providing technical support to nuclear plant projects across design, testing, operations and oversight.
• Knowledge of available equipment and pre-engineered systems for execution of systems design.
• Experience liaising with firm/clients in a lead engineering or support role.
• Experience reviewing design drawings created by others.

Responsibilities

• Develop and market high-level, complex programs for nuclear power projects.
• Direct technical decision making within project teams for digital upgrades.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve instrumentation & controls issues.
• Coordinate design activities to meet specifications and client requirements.
• Prepare and review detailed calculations and design input documentation.
• Interface with vendors and review equipment purchase specifications.
• Prepare reports and studies presenting technical information clearly.
